These are images of two mural projects I organized for the Siddhartha School in Ladakh, India. Each class, from first through eighth grade, designed and executed their own mural. They focused on Buddhist symbols and local landmarks, though the first-graders chose to paint a penguin and a whale. I assisted them, mixing paint from 5-gallon buckets of primer and packets of dye, occasionally helping with a sketch or a layout, and providing human scaffolding for the shorter kids (sometimes stacked two high - their idea).
The Integrated Kindergarden mural was designed in collaboration with the faculty, and painted by myself.
The Siddhartha School is an amazing resource for its region, and seems to be perservering despite the disasters that struck Ladakh in recent years.
